#RockYourPortrait to #CrushEvil
I love what I do.
As a portrait photographer, there is nothing more beautiful to me than someone who is comfortable in their own skin. There is nothing more rewarding than empowering clients to see themselves as the amazing people that they are. I get to live out Henry David Thoreau’s statement, “It's not what you look at that matters, it's what you see.”
Happy, happy. Joy, joy.
Until Nic McKinley of DeliverFund.org was a guest on Andy Stumpf's Cleared Hot podcast(Episode # 171). And again, when Kara “The Huntress” Smith took her turn at the mic (Episode # 191).
They opened my eyes.
And I learned about the people who stand unseen among us. The ones who can’t find comfort anywhere, let alone in their own skin. Because the monsters who *own* them see them as nothing but skin.
Skin that’s bought and sold,....over and over,....day after day,....right here in America.
This is human trafficking. It’s horrific. It’s in our own backyard.
There was no joy. Just simmering anger. And the desire to help.
It has to stop. This is where DeliverFund.org comes in.
What started as a month-long fundraiser has turned into my studio's favorite charity. The studio donates a portion of each session's proceeds to help DeliverFund identify, rescue, and rehabilitate the victims of human trafficking. It's the most productive thing that I can do.
And, now, so can you.
I look forward to having you (or someone you love) in the studio to experience how empowering a portrait session can be.
Warmly,
Stephanie
